Wonderfully rustic, the irresistible colours and abstractness of our mosaic designs make every installation as charming as the next. Our creativity is expressed differently through each and every customer and therefore, no design is ever the same.
As our mosaics are works of art, and each vibrant tile is individually cut by our talented team of artists, we very carefully consider the jobs that we take on based on the size and scale of the design requested. The prices of our mosaics are based on complexity and scale of design. By being involved as early as possible in a project we can go beyond the usual and provide more than just a beautiful mosaic, we can create a truly unique setting that runs through your entire house or workplace.
Design
Due to the fact that we create our own tiles there are very few limiting factors to what we can design. Adapting a product to meet an individual’s wishes for their dream mosaic is ha we thrive on. Provide us with a blank canvas and you will not be disappointed! Having your mosaic designed by Burnt Earth Designs is a very personal process. The more information we have about your style, colour scheme and overall setting the more likely we are to dazzle you with the mosaic of your dreams.
Depending on the design and your specifications we will produce hand sketches, renders, technical drawings and other visual aids to give you a complete understanding of what your mosaic will look like.
Tile Specification
By having computer generated visual of your mosaic we’re able to accurately determine the number, size and shape of tiles required. It also allows us to provide you with a dimensioned template that will assist with the installation of your mosaic on site.
We prefer to install the tiles ourselves, however this technique allows for any good tiler, anywhere on the planet, to install the tiles easily and accurately guided by our detailed designs.
Tile Production
Our team of artists and tilers have years of experience and know exactly what it takes to produce the perfect handmade, hand painted Zimbabwean tile. The beauty of our handmade tiles is that no two tiles are the same. Each tile is a masterpiece in itself.
We will update you constantly throughout the production stage so you can arrange installation timeframes. We prefer to install the tiles ourselves, however this technique allows for any good tiler, anywhere on the planet, to install the tiles easily and accurately guided by our detailed designs.
Packaging
Depending on the nature of your design we will package the tiles in an order that makes installation easy and efficient. Your packaging will include all of the tiles (plus a few spares), a dimensioned drawing or render of the mosaic and an installation guide. Should you wish for our team to do the installation we will travel with all of the tiles to ensure their safe arrival.

Installation
Many of our mosaics are complex and are made up of numerous tile shapes and colours. Wherever possible we prefer to use our team of mosaic artists and tilers who have many years of experience.
Where this is not practical we will give as much information as possible to assist in the installation of your mosaic. Where one of our more complex/organic mosaics is being installed by a third party we insist that you use a tiler with a good understanding of this type of tiling.
